"Every time we ask a question, we’re generating a possible version of a life."
I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist. It's my honor & pleasure to be able to listen to your stories & support you with your journey. Along with working with individuals, couples, families, & children at Southern California Counseling Center & Kohan International Foundation, I’ve finished my training in a residential facility treating clients challenged with eating disorders. I’m passionate in my work with adults & children with body dysmorphia, self-esteem issues, depression, anxiety & relationship challenges. My personal journey as a refugee has helped me become more sensitive to cultural diversities as well as help individuals & families who are struggling with the transition of cultural differences. I speak fluent Farsi, & I can provide therapy to Iranian & Afghan communities in their first language.

I'm informed by Post modern theories, EMDR, and Community & Trauma Resiliency Model to effectively & sensitively decrease symptoms of trauma, avoidance, depression, & anxiety. With my our collaboration, you will realize that you are not the problem- the problem is the problem! Through mutual collaboration we will reach an awareness of the problem’s influences on different areas of your life. I can encourage you to label, objectify or personify what seems to be the problem for you to foster it into a separate entity.
Seeking individual therapy will give you self-discovery opportunities in a non- judgmental space with my undivided attention. We identify a personal goal that gives us a direction with a pace that you feel comfortable with.
As a refugee, I've experienced a major life transition first hand & would be an honored to give back to this community as a therapist. You may feel like an outsider grieving your roots or longing for a sense of belonging, stability & connection. You are not alone, & despite possible stigma, therapy can help you to process those feelings.
Couple therapy is NOT just for a relationship in crisis! It's a fantastic tool that strengthens your relationship in order to create a more connected, romantic bond with your partner. Sometimes you might feel like you are not being heard, you feel misunderstood or disrespected. Some tend to stonewall, withdraw, or find themselves in a power struggle with their partner. With the help and guidance of a third party, you can identify the repetitive patterns and learn new ways communicate your emotional needs in a healthier & productive manner.

I provide a free 15 minute phone consultation to learn more about what you are looking for, and see if we would be a good fit to work together. I will also discuss my current fees with you at this time.
If you are concerned about affordability, I do offer a few sliding scale spaces and may be able to offer a reduced rate depending on your needs. Also, most PPO insurance providers will
reimburse some portion of psychotherapy, and I can provide for you necessary paperwork to submit to your insurance.
